El Matareya Teaching Hospital is the largest teaching hospital in the General Hospital Authority in Egypt. The hospital includes 687 beds on an area of ​​10 acres, with 12 intensive care units in the hospital:

• Cardiac care, with 9 beds and 3 ventilators
• Neurosurgery: 9 beds and 3 ventilators
• General care in the reception, with 6 beds and 3 respirators
• The internal care unit has 8 beds and 6 respirators
• Intensive care for children with 6 beds and 6 ventilators
• About 23 nurseries for children.

El Matareya Teaching Hospital serves about 6 million people, and provides a treatment service and a research and educational program for young doctors

The hospital has established the largest center for training and scientific research not only at the level of the authority but at the level of universities to serve the scientific research system, in addition to pharmacies and new buildings and a general development of the reception system, and it has introduced specialized surgeries in the field of orthopedics, endoscopic surgery, and joint replacement surgery
