The Burns and Plastic Surgery Center teaches undergraduate and graduate students (Masters - PhD) and trains medical cadres in the field of burn and plastic surgery, conducting medical research, microscopic surgeries and international medical courses in partnership with Egyptian and foreign universities.

The center’s distinction stems from the development in re-implantation of amputated organs such as hands and limbs, deformities of burn patients, microscopic surgeries, posterior deformities surgeries, as well as surgeries for repairing post-burn deformities and maxillofacial fractures.
Center for Burns and Plastic Surgery - Mansoura University is also the first center specialized in the field of burns and plastic surgery in the middle of the Delta and serves many governorates such as Sharkia - Gharbia - Damietta - Dakahlia - Port Said - Kafr El Sheikh and others
On May 30, 2005, the Mansoura University Council approved the establishment of a center for burns and its complications at Mansoura University Hospital.

The center was built on an area of approximately 400 m2 and consists of 6 floors (ground and five upper floors).
The Burns Unit started in 1983 as a unit of the General Surgery Department at Mansoura University Hospital
The service has developed with the establishment of the University Emergency Hospital in 1996 AD, but with a limited number of burn patients being admitted to the hospital, which is not commensurate with the size of the four Delta governorates who are served by Mansoura University hospitals, the actual work has started since 2010 AD
