Abu Al-Rish Japanese Hospital

Abu Al-Rish Japanese Hospital is one of the largest and most important government hospitals with free treatment for children.

The Government of Japan supported the construction of Cairo University Hospital, and capacity building of its staff in response to the Egyptian Government's initiative to improve standards of health care for children on the occasion of the International Year of the Child in 1979.

 

The Specialized Children's Hospital "Abu Al-Rish Al-Japanese" is the largest children's hospital in Egypt and the Middle East. It was established in 1983 with a grant from Japan. It has 354 beds, including 121 intensive care beds. It has 35 nurseries. The hospital receives between 1500-2000 patients daily, with a total of half a million patients annually. 25,000 - 30,000 cases annually.

The hospital includes about 17 specialized clinics, including strabismus, genetics, collagen, catheterization, heart, chest, brain, nerves, liver, general surgery, plastic surgery, ducts, ophthalmology and ultrasound.

The hospital includes about ten equipped operating rooms and three cardiac catheterization rooms with a total of 12,000 to 15,000 annual operations in all specialties. The hospital also has many medical services such as EEG, muscle EEG, CT scan, MRI, sound waves, EKG, laboratories.
