El Shatby Hospital for Obstetrics and Gynecology

El Shatby Hospital for Women and Childbirth in Alexandria is a university hospital affiliated to the Faculty of Medicine at Alexandria University.

It is considered a distinguished medical facility that provides a high-level medical service by faculty members in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology to all sick and pregnant women.
The hospital was opened in 1955, and its capacity at that time was 100 beds, in which delivery, treatment of gynecological diseases, infertility and care of premature babies were carried out, and later increased to include family planning and maternity care, and then a blood transfusion center was established in it.

In 1986 the number of hospital beds reached 254, and on July 31, 1990 the IVF unit was opened, and in 1994 (after adding two floors to the hospital building) the hospital capacity was increased to 376 beds and the intensive care unit was established with a capacity of 5 beds.
