The Ministry of Health announced that the National Blood Transfusion Center has obtained the accreditation of the American Association of Blood Banks for the third time in a row, which is the highest accredited certificate in the world in the field of blood banks.

Dr. Ihab Serag, Director General of the National Blood Transfusion Services, confirmed that the National Bank is the only one in Egypt to obtain this international certificate

He explained that a committee from the American Society visited the National Bank and reviewed all the bank’s procedures, how to donate, and the rules followed for blood safety, at the end of the analysis procedures, after which it awarded its certificate to the National Bank, which is the highest international certificate in the field of blood banks, without any comments in its report.

He stressed that only a limited number of blood banks in the Arab countries have obtained the American Society's certificate, saluting the employees of the Quality Department in the bank in particular and the bank's employees in general for their efforts in reaching this advanced stage and achieving this achievement.
